Structural Maintenance

Every year East Sussex County Council (ESCC) allocates funding for structural maintenance of Eastbournes unclassified roads. 

These are works designed to increase the structural integrity of the highway as opposed to minor surfacing works.

The program of works includes both extensive carriageway and footway works. The program is prepared based on the current condition of the highway network.

Bids have to be made to ESCC for carriageway works on classified (A, B & C) roads. The following bids have been submitted:

• Whitley Road

• The Avenue & Upper Avenue

• Gildredge Road

• South Street (between Gildredge Road and Memorial Roundabout)

• Lismore Road

• A259 between East Dean Road and Upperton Road

• Kings Drive

• Willingdon Road (between Eldon Road and Victoria Drive)

• Shinewater Roundabout
