Traffic Management (EBC/ESCC)
All traffic management services are the responsibility of East Sussex County Council (ESCC). We carry out a number of services on their behalf.
Traffic management schemes such as physical speed reduction measures, mini roundabouts or pedestrian crossing facilities are the direct function of the County Council as the Highway Authority for Eastbourne. The relatively high cost of traffic works dictates available funding which is allocated across the County on a priority basis. We have the ability to design and implement traffic management schemes on behalf of ESCC (or for other parties) if there is an alternative funding source.
For more information, or to request a traffic management scheme, contact us on highways@eastbourne.gov.uk.
Parking Restrictions (EBC)
The installation, amendment or deletion of parking restrictions is the responsibility of the Traffic Section within our Highways Group. All requests are entered into a database and ranked according to a set of defined criteria. The legislative procedures associated with parking restrictions normally take up to six months. For further details on parking restrictions, or to request new restrictions, contact us on 01323 415241 or email us on highways@eastbourne.gov.uk.
Traffic Signals, Light Controlled Pedestrian Crossings, Illuminated Signage and Bollards (ESCC)
All of the described items above are the direct responsibility of the County Council. You can report faults with traffic signals, illuminated signs and bollards using the East Sussex fault reporting service.
