Road Closures

If a road needs to be closed due to an event being held a temporary Traffic Regulation Order may be required.
 
The need for an Order will depend on the importance of the road required to be closed.
 
An Order requires a minimum of six weeks to process and includes a mandatory requirement for advertising in the local press and on site. The cost for the advertising is paid by the street party organisers and payment would be required prior to the event.
 
If a number of similar requests for road closures are received at the same time the six week time-scale could be longer. Time-scales given on our guidelines page are therefore indicative and we would like to stress that to avoid disappointment due to an omission or late submission of a mandatory requirement please leave plenty of time for your application to be processed.
