Bus Shelters

We have 170 bus shelters under an Agreement with Clear Channel, a national bus shelter provider. Our bus shelters are coloured "Eastbourne" blue. We also have a number of black shelters located in conservation areas.

All shelters are illuminated with the intention of reducing the fear of crime for those who use them. Some shelters carry illuminated advertisement boards. All shelters are equipped with bus timetables and service route plans to the benefit of the bus traveller.

The shelters are maintained by Clear Channel at no cost to Eastbourne Borough Council.

Cleansing frequencies vary between 10 days for shelters in the Town Centre and 20 days for those in other areas.

Clear Channel provide a hot line number to which members of the public are invited to report damage to shelters - 01730 231115. Please use this number to report any damage or defects to bus shelters ( the shelters are numbered on the front to assist when reporting any damage to ensure accurate location).

If the shelter is in a dangerous condition Adshel are required to remove the danger within 3 hours of the damage being reported.

Brick and Timber Bus Shelters

We maintain a number of timber and brick built bus shelters. Please contact us to report any damage or defect to these shelters or call 01323 415282.
