Dog Fouling - What does the Community Enforcement Team do when you leave your dog faeces?

The Community Enforcement Team will issue a Fixed Penalty Notice of £75.00 to anyone leaving his/her dog faeces.

Reasons to pick up your Dog faeces:

  • Disease - All faeces contains bacteria that causes stomach upsets if ingested. However, the greatest risk to public health from dog faeces is toxocariasis.
  • Smelly and unclean - It gets on your shoes and/or clothes and has an unpleasant smell

Reduce the risk:

  • Poop scoop every time your dog makes a mess.
  • Ensure that your dog is wormed regularly - every three to six months.
  • Do not take dogs into children's play areas

Dog Control

The Community Enforcement Team can issue a fixed penalty notices to any person allowing their dog to enter land where it is prohibited, or if the dog is not on a leash where it is required to be.
