Dead Animals

If you find a dead animal or bird by a road or in the street please report it to SITA on 01323 720 920.

 

Pets that are found dead are taken to Chase Veterinary Centre, 357 Seaside, Eastbourne where they are kept for a short while. If you have lost a pet, please contact Chase directly on 01323 412 673.

 

SITA are unable to remove dead animals or birds that are in inaccessible or dangerous places such as roofs and guttering. If you find an animal or bird in such a place, please contact Environmental Health for further advice.

Bird Flu

The latest advice from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) states the following:

 

If you find a dead swan, goose or duck; or three or more dead wild or garden birds in the same place, you should call the Defra helpline on 08459 33 55 77.

 

Currently the Helpline is available between the following hours: Monday - Friday 8am to 8pm and Saturday - Sunday 9am to 6pm. You will be asked for details of your finding and its location.
