The weather may be warming up but when it turns chilly again, Willingdon Trees Community Centre in Hampden Park will be warm and welcoming, thanks to a donation from Eastbourne Homes’ Hampden Park & Willingdon Trees Area Panel.
The heating at the centre has been broken for some time and as part of a project to rejuvenate the facility and encourage more people to use it, the Panel agreed to donate £3,000 for new radiators.
Area Panel member, Pat Hearn, said: “I’m really excited about this new rejuvenation project. The centre has everything – a sports hall which can accommodate bigger events, a smaller room which is used for playgroups and an outside area for children. I’d encourage anyone who hasn’t been there for a while to consider using it for group meetings or functions.”
There are four Area Panels across the town - Hampden Park & Willingdon Trees, Old Town, Central & Archery and Langney. Each Panel has £10,000 to spend on community projects. For more information, please visit www.eastbourne.gov.uk and search for Area Panels.
