Hampden Park Sports Centre has been working hard to make changes to the centre, implementing Disability Discrimination Act requirements.
These changes have improved accessibilty for people with disabilties and include:

a pathway around the centre with hands rails

a new external ramp

a new toilet and changing area specifically for people with disabilities, including a shower and full wheelchair access. Disabilities can access this toilet by the specific key known around europe

new wider doors throughout the centre with glass panels specifically so that children and wheelchair users can see through to the other side
Externally we have two allocated disabled parking bays as close as possible to the centre and a ramp that goes down to the tennis court which is ideal for our wheelchair tennis users.
The reception area has an Induction Loop System in use for people with hearing disabilities
With the recent changes made we are now looking to attract more people with disabilities and make it as accessible as possible for the whole of the community to get active in sport and leasure activities.
