Gurr Ceramic Tiling made it two consecutive titles in a season that saw the closest finally in years. Tiling had a poor start to their title defence only picking up nine points out of their first six games. Tiling bounced back and the last night of the season saw the top four battlinging it out for the title and coming up against eachother, adding to the excitement.
Coastal Repointing started the night top but a 2-1 defeat to EBC Sports saw their title hopes shattered, the same result saw Tiling beat Blubba Boyz which left EBC Sports playing Tiling, with the winning side crowned champions. Tiling came out in blistering form to win 3-0 and their eighth straight win to complete back to back titles
The League Cup saw some shock results as MDJ Demons beat Coastal 2-0 in the first round and Kewell & The Gang hammered Tiling 5-1 in the semis. A close encounter was settled by penalties as defending league cup champions College Reunited knocked out EBC Sports, they then cruised into the final with a 4-0 win over Demons. The final was set with Kewell & The Gang against College Reunited, the first time two sides finishing outside the top four had reached the final. College came out stronger to win 4-1 for their second league cup triumph.
Greg Greenwood scored 35 goals to win the top goal scorer award for the second time, and it was great to see the young striker back to his best after a serious injury last year. Kevin Spiers was awarded the player of the season after his consistant defending helped Blubba Boyz come close yet again to winning the league.
