Winter Season 2009/10

Hampden Park 5-a-Side Football logo

Hospital Social Club grab top spot with 64 points and record their best and ‘the best’ un beaten streak in any league here as they go 22 games unbeaten and hold the 19 game winning streak along with sharing the best defensive record of all time with H T White with 9 conceded.

Gurr Tiling deliver 2nd place 9 points between 2nd and 3rd with a good season for them. They too had the next best defensive record also taking 2nd place in the league's second top scoring team.

A tight league found a tight finish for the rest of the top 8 where 11 teams could have all qualified for a top 8 spot in the league cup but saw week ten and eleven the vital blow for some of the teams.

Balls of Steel and Kewell & the Gang battled for third spot with Balls of Steel leading the race for third found third place 5 weeks in a row but thanks to Kewell's late winning streaks saw them beat Steel to the chase in week 11.

B H Fanaticos first season found them in the top 8 and deserved as they gave as good as the got and dealt with the teams well racking up some impressive wins for instance week 11's 5-3 win over Fellas Barbers saw them jump into 7th.

The Top goal scorer went to Riki Prodger of Hospital Social Club with 42 goals. Hampden Park Sports Centre's 'little Ronaldo' scored goals for fun in this league with what was the pick of winter League Cup's best goal of the night as he ran from his own half with kick-up's found a half bounce and a superb 'Di Canio' like scissors kick to score! Well done Riki.

Player of the Season went to Kyle Feneron of Hospital Social Club for his superb efforts of work rate, assists and goals being the best all around footballer of winter season.

League Cup winners were Hospital Social Club as they beat Gurr Tiling 5-2 in the final as they proved still to be the dominant force and yet beaten since mid-July 2009.

Blubba Boyz and B H Fanaticos reached Semi-finals against both Social Club and Gurr Tiling but spectated a great cup and alot of descent football played.
