Rules and Regulations

Sussex County Football Association

Game Rules

1. Matches last for 12 minutes (based on 12 teams),  half time switch ends.

2. Maximum of three subs, role on role off subs.

3. Teams must wear matching kit or bibs provided by the centre.

4. If the two teams' kit clashes then the team second in the fixture must wear bibs.

5. Jewellery must not be worn during games. 

6. The ball must stay under head height, free kicks will be awarded if it goes above head height.

7. No slide tackles.

8. Players must stand 6ft away at free kicks.

9. No outfield players inside the goalkeeper's area. If a defender goes inside the goalkeeper's area a penalty will be awarded. If an attacker goes inside the goalkeeper's area a free kick will be awarded.

10. Goalkeepers must roll the ball out under arm at all time keeping the ball under waste height.  

11. When the goalkeeper rolls the ball and it is played straight back to the goalkeeper without the ball making contact with another player, a free kick will be awarded.

12. If a goalkeeper makes a save and the ball goes above head height then the ball starts back at the goalkeeper.

13. Goalkeepers must roll the ball out straight away. If they are time wasting a free kick will be awarded.

14. Teams must be ready to play at kick off time. If they are not they have three minutes after kick off time to be ready or the game will be forfeited 2-0 and they will have a point deducted.

15. Teams must have a minimum of four players to play. If four players cannot be fielded then the team will forfeit the game 2-0, get a point deducted and lose their priority to the next league.

16. Usual laws of the games apply, the following may result in a yellow card:

  • Footwear leaves a player's foot in a dangerous manner.

  • Dangerous challenges near the walls.

League Rules

1. The league is affiliated by the Sussex County Football Association (S.C.F.A), under their laws only males of a minimum age of 16 can compete.

2. Team registration will take place on the first night of the season. After the first night of the league, new players must be registered 2 hours in advance, no later than 5:30pm on the Tuesday and must be verified with the league administrator.

3. When players are registered this must include first name, surname and date of birth. Date of birth can be given on the night.

4. Only 10 players can be registered at one time.

5. Each team can make five additions to their original team sheet throughout the league.

6. No changes can be made to the team sheet on the last week of the league.

7. If a player transfers from one team to another in the same league, they cannot play against their previous team until the following league.

8. A player can be signed on for more than one team at the beginning of the season but once playing for one side they must be removed off of any other team sheets. Note: players can transfer to a maximum of three different teams per season but once transfered as above cannot play against the orginal teams he played for.

9. If an unregistered player plays then the team forfeit the game 2-0 and are deducted a point.

10. A Blue card sytem will be in place. If a Blue card is received the player will have to leave the pitch for 2 minutes and not enter the field of play until the referee has advised them to do so.

11. If a team receives 3 Blue cards leaving just two players on the pitch they will forfeit the game, losing 2-0.

12. If a player receives a yellow card, they will recieve a £8 fine that must be paid within 14 days. If it is not paid within 14 days then they will be suspended until the fine is paid.

13. Two bookings for one player in one league will result in a one week suspension.

14. Red cards will be sent through to the S.C.F.A to be dealt with. Red cards if dealt with internally with the league administrator will cost £15 and a game week suspension the following week.

15. The League Administrator's decision is final, subject to the right to appeal to the S.C.F.A.

League Cup Rules

1. All 12 teams at the end of the league qualify for the League Cup and Plate cup in a one night group phase top two finale

2. Teams must arrive for 7.20pm per cup night and be ready for kick off's from 7.30pm

3. Players cannot be signed on for the League Cups.

4. Only players that have played in the league can play in the League Cups. Therefore players must be ticked off on the teamsheet when they have made an appearance in the league so they able to play in the League Cup.

5. If a match finished in a draw then the game will go into three minutes of extra time. If it is still a draw after three minutes then the game will go into a penalty shootout. Each team will have three penalties. If the score is even at the end of the three penalties it will go into sudden death penalties.  

Centre Rules

1.3(a) The Borough Council acting through the Manager reserves the right to refuse admission to the centre to any person whether or not a fee has been paid in respect of entry and/or the use of the facilities at the centre.

1.3(b) The Borough Council acting through the Manager reserves the right to require any person to leave the centre at any time without refunding any fee paid for entry of use of the facilities.
