Envirofacts
Eastbourne, with its top sunshine records and awards and accolades galore is showing them off in a special building on the seafront.

The blue Envirofacts building on Eastbourne’s middle promenade, East of the Bandstand, underwent a makeover in 2007. It now promotes the latest news on Eastbourne’s many awards and accolades, including the prestigious Blue Flag beach award, which was presented to the town in 2007 for the fourth year in a row. Eastbourne’s beaches meet stringent EU water quality directives and offer safe bathing and excellent facilities making it the top location to enjoy the sun.

Eastbourne’s first class beaches were also recognised in 2007 with two Quality Coast beach awards. Holywell beach scooped the title of ‘Away From It All’, while the beaches between the Pier and Wish Tower were best for ‘Fun in the Sea’.

The Envirofacts kiosk also continues to promote the importance of safety in the sun, plus offers quirky facts on the history of Eastbourne’s fabulous weather and useful information for visitors including tide times. Just east of the Bandstand, it makes a good break point for those walking along the promenade to find out more about the seafront.
