For the fourteenth year in a row local school children have designed a summer garden to be planted near Holywell Cafe towards the west end of the seafront. Planting will take place during June when the children will be invited to attend to put the finishing touches to their work.
Children from Saint John's Meads CE Primary School won the competition with a design based on this year's theme of 'Wildlife in Bloom'. Background work was presented on 28th March at the Town Hall and judged by a team led by the Mayor, Councillor Mrs. Mary Pooley.
The competition has been organised by Eastbourne Education Business Partnership and generously supported by Saint Andrew's School Meads, The Weather Shop, Gardening Matters, Firebrand Design, Wyevale Grounds Maintenance and Eastbourne Borough Council.
