Location
This large recreation ground is located in Longland Road. It is situated on gently sloping ground along the west side of the town.

History
The land has been a public recreation area since the 1930s when housing was developed in this part of the Borough. In 2011 the park became nominated as a Queen Elizabeth II Field.
Main Attractions
The wide open space has panoramic views east over the town and beyond. To the west the lower slopes of the South Downs rise up and afford some protection from the dominant westerly winds.
The playground was substantially refurbished during 2010.
