Eastbourne's main parks and most  recreation grounds have facilities and attractions that can be enjoyed by visitors of all ages and abilities. The seafront also offers level access, radar-key toilets and a wide range of other facilities.

Surfaced all-weather paths are common particularly at Hampden, Shinewater and Princes Parks which all have lawns, ornamental lakes and playgrounds. Aromatic planting is used at numerous locations. Radar-key operated toilets are available at Hampden Park and Princes Park and at Archery Recreation Ground. The café at Hampden Park has ramp access.

Mirage swings have been installed at various sites and are molded so they have a deeper seat and sides for the added security of the user.

The design also allows the use of a purpose-made harness. Harnesses are not available on site but can be purchased from the manufacturer, SMP Playgrounds, for around £50. Their customer services telephone number is 0845 260 1655 or use the web link provided.

Mirage swings can be found at Archery Recreation Ground, Hampden Park and Old Town Recreation Ground.

Nest swings are a new and popular addition to Eastbourne's play areas.

Each nest swing can accommodate several users at any one time. This means that someone who needs assistance can ride with their friends or carer.

Nest swings are available at Old Town and Archery Recreation Grounds and at Hampden Park.

Low level roundabouts

These roundabouts are specially designed to be flush with the surrounding ground surface. This enables wheelchairs to board the equipment and for others the lack of a step can be helpful.

A special mechanism prevents these roundabouts from being spun excessively fast and helps support levels of confidence in younger and less able visitors.

Low level roundabouts have been installed at Archery and Roselands Recreation Grounds and at Princes Park (Channel View Road playground).
