Collection Care

During 2007 Local History Museum staff and volunteers will continue a programme of collections care.

Already volunteers from the Eastbourne Natural History and Archaeological Society are well underway with the auditing and conserving of the archaeological collections of the Local History Museum at the Manor House.

In addition items from the Local History collections will be conserved as part of the major collection conservation project at the Manor House which is ongoing throughout 2007.

To develop a new Local History Centre successfully takes time and money. By consulting closely with the Societies and developing strong partnerships, we increase our chances of achieving external funding, which is essential for such a project. 

Our hope is that we will be opening a new centre in 2008.
