Babergh District Council
A small rural district, has developed ‘Be Active’ working with a range of hard to reach groups and partners including children with disabilities, excluded pupils and the Anti Social Behaviour team.
The Borough of Telford and Wrekin
Telford and Wrekin is working to transform its communities using culture and sport allied to powerful and meaningful partnerships. Innovative use of resources has delivered real benefits for groups particularly the young, the excluded from education and disabled people.
Eastbourne Borough Council
Through its ‘Towner on the Town’ scheme Eastbourne is using cultural activity to make a difference in the lives of young offenders and change the way the council operates.
Leicester City Council
Leicester is demonstrating how excluded and disadvantaged neighbourhoods can become involved in transforming their locality. A broad range of cultural activities and events are used to bring social cohesion and support to the wide range of diverse communities.
The London Borough of Newham
Newham is using cultural and sporting facilities and activities to transform itself, through intelligent use of evidence. Programmes are closely monitored to demonstrate the difference they are making.
Nottinghamshire County Council
Nottingham has a wide range of sports services and works with the district authorities to support and compliment their work. They have a particular focus on disabled athletes moving into coaching, further education and employment.
Shrewsbury and Atcham Borough Council
Shrewsbury and Atcham has a split urban and rural population, but is using sport, leisure and the arts to transform its economy and the future shape of the district, retaining its future workforce through ensuring the locality is attractive to young and old alike.
