Here are some facts and figures about the beacon scheme:

 

  • Since the scheme began, 86 per cent of English local authorities have applied for beacon status.

 

  • 77 per cent of local authorities attended learning exchanges or open days.

 

  • 79 per cent of those attending beacon events report that they made a change in their council attributable wholly or mainly to attending (Warwick Business School).

 

  • The beacons have followed up more than 220 peer-to-peer and one-to-one contacts.

 

  • More than 6,700 delegate places have been provided at beacon learning exchanges and open days since the scheme began. 

 

  • Independent case study evidence shows that engagement with beacons can stimulate improvements in performance, culture and customer satisfaction (Warwick Business School).
