Private Housing Assistance Publicity Launch Event

You Deserve It! Campaign Launch

'You Deserve It!' is a campaign to tell homeowners, private landlords and tenants about the council's Private Housing Assistance programme.

The campaign began with the unveiling of a giant advert on bus stops on Tuesday 16 September 2008.

Eastbourne Borough Council is launching its new Private Housing Renewal Policy - a three year £3million programme of government-funded assistance to improve privately-owned and rented homes.

Loans and grants from £200-£50,000 are being administered by the council for work ranging from handrails to new roofs, from insulation to improving disabled access.

Residents who have already had grants and loans are taking part in publicity to show others they not only can apply for this money but that they deserve this money, too.

Council members and staff were on hand at the unveiling of the first bus stop advert in Lottbridge Drive.

This is just one of the places these recipients will see their stories publicised - to enforce the message this money is ready to be applied for by eligible Eastbourne residents.

It is especially easy to get help if you are over 60 years old, disabled or are a family on benefits with children under 16 years old.

An 'exemplary' record of housing renewal delivery in Eastbourne to date helped authorities in East Sussex and Brighton and Hove claim £18million in government funds for residents.

The awareness campaign is designed by PRG Publicity, an Eastbourne based marketing communications agency that represents public and private sector clients regionally and nationally.
