The council's Independent Living Advisor can help older and vulnerable people in Eastbourne to make informed choices about the housing options and assistance available to them.
Customer Gwen Hughes says "It is so good to know that in a world that seems to ignore old people's problems, there are still people like yourselves that try to help".
Advice and Support
The Advisor offers a wide range of advice and support to older people and vulnerable adults in private housing, including owner occupiers and those renting privately:
-
Guidance on the different types of housing grants and financial assistance available
-
Help with filling in forms
-
Signposting to specialist advice and support services
As well as explaining housing help available from the council, the Independent Living Advisor can also direct clients to appropriate specialist support services and make referrals on their behalf to other agencies.
