Private Housing Renewal Publicity Events 2006-2007

The council's Environmental Health service held local publicity events to promote our Private Housing Renewal Programme.

Staff from our Private Housing Team raised awareness about our range of Private Housing Assistance, energy saving advice and empty homes.

Local Awareness Events

Events included a stand at the 2007 Local Life Show and a series of Advice Days in the Arndale Centre.

The team were outside Sainsbury's in Eastbourne Arndale Centre on Thursday 18 October and Tuesday 30 October 2007, giving advice and helping people fill in application forms for Private Housing Assistance.

Our staff were dressed up in cavity wall insulation and washing machine costumes to attract attention and raise awareness about energy saving, working with Surrey and East Sussex Energy Efficiency Advice Centre.

We handed out over 400 low energy lightbulbs and more than 350 people signed Save Your 20 Per Cent energy saving commitment pledges.
