The Council carries out studies to find out what kind of housing people need in Eastbourne. These can all be downloaded from this page.

The Housing Market Assessment for Eastbourne and South Wealden carried out in 2007 looks at how the local housing markets work. It shows where people in the area move to and from and where they travel to work. It also shows the amount, size and type of housing needed in Eastbourne.

The Housing Needs Survey 2005 asked 6,920 households what kind of housing they would need in the next 3 years. The Survey Report gives details of what people said and what this tells us about the housing needed in Eastbourne.

A Specialist Housing Needs Survey was carried out at the same time through interviews with Black and minority ethnic households, older people, young people and people with learning disabilities.

The Sub-regional Summary brings together information from all the surveys carried out across the whole of East Sussex and Brighton & Hove.

Housing Facts and Figures summarises the information on local housing which we use to develop our housing policies, strategies and plans.
