Services to Landlords

We work with landlords in a number of ways. We:

•  provide information about landlords' rights and responsibilities

• give advice on health and safety, licensing of Houses in Multiple Occupation, and improving properties
• organise Landlords' Forum meetings where we talk about new legislation, policies, funding opportunities, and Council services
• publish a Landlords' Bulletin
• have an online discussion forum for Landlords
• offer mediation and support services where a tenant is in arrears or having difficulty managing their home

Letting your property through the Council

We are also building a portfolio of landlords who rent their properties to Housing customers. These will normally be people who are having to move out of where they live and are at risk of becoming homeless, or people who have become homeless. We can:

• offer loans to potential tenants to cover deposits where landlords are willing to offer tenancies to our customers
• help by speeding up Housing Benefit claims
• provide support to more vulnerable tenants
• provide ongoing advice and support to the landlord.
