During 2009 we held awareness events in Eastbourne Arndale Centre about the energy saving grants and discounts available from your council in East Sussex.
To help you cut your energy bills and save on heating costs, your council is giving away wall and loft insulation, as well as solar water-heating systems, subject to terms and conditions.
Free Insulation Promoted at July 2009 Event
On Thursday 2 July 2009 from 9am until 3pm we had a stand in the central area of the Arndale Centre, with staff from Eastbourne Borough Council, Climate Energy Ltd (our managing agents) and Converteco (one of our energy contractors).
The council-managed and council approved East Sussex Energy Partnership can provide government-funded grants for insulation or solar panels to eligible homeowners or private tenants.

Free Solar Panels Promoted at June 2009 Event
Eastbourne Borough Council's previous awareness events to promote the help available from the East Sussex Energy Partnership have been a great success.
Our last event in the Arndale Centre on Thursday 11 June 2009 successfully promoted the Energy Partnership free or discounted solar panels scheme, following the solar energy campaign press launch two days earlier.
Our solar energy display was manned by staff from the council and Converteco (one of our contractors). Many residents of Eastbourne and the surrounding areas visited our stand to ask questions about the eligibility criteria and conditions that apply and to ask our contractor technical questions. 40 local people expressed interest in proceeding with grants, which was very encouraging.
Other Energy Partnership Events in Eastbourne
At the previous Arndale Centre event, on Thursday 21 May 2009, many people showed an interest in our free or discounted wall and loft insulation and solar panels. We took further details from 36 residents, including the chairman of a residents’ committee with 16 properties.
In Eastbourne we have also had stands at the Area Panels Community Fun Day on 30 May 2009 and the Community Wise Live Better For Less Exhibition on 15 November 2008. Details of earlier events from 2006-2008 are on a separate page in this section.
