Say goodbye to your old boiler – If yours is over 15 years old, consider switching to a new energy efficient one. High efficiency condensing boilers with heating controls could save you as much as £225 a year.

Be flexible – Fit Thermostatic Radiator Valves (TRVs) to your radiators. TRVs will monitor and respond to the temperature of each room ensuring no rooms are under or overheated.

Get on down – Lowering your thermostat by just 1ºC could save you around £55 a year. However, remember your main living area should be at 21ºC to be comfortable and 18ºC in other rooms.

Do not get in hot water – The recommended thermostat setting on your hot water is 60ºC. Anything higher and you are just wasting energy and money.

Wrap it up – Fit a hot water tank insulation jacket so once your water is hot it stays hot for longer. It is cheap and very cost effective.
