How Is My Benefit Paid?

Benefit can be paid directly into your bank account (by BACS).  Benefit payments are made two-weekly in arrears.

If you are private tenant and you have moved or claimed for the first time after 6 April 2008 you can must receive your Housing Benefit payments.

In exceptional circumstances you can apply for your Housing Benefits to be paid to your Landlord or Letting Agents.  If we agree to do this, we will pay your landlord / letting agents directly.  They will recieve benefit payments by BACS four-weekly in arrears.

If you wish to apply for your Housing Benefit payments to be paid to your Landlord or Letting Agents, please contact us or Eastbourne Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) for further information, advice and an application form.

If your property is owned by the council (Eastbourne Homes Limited), a credit will be made direct to your rent account each week.
