Learn about Environmental Health

Young people

Information for children, teenagers and young people about health and environmental issues.

Learn about Environmental Health and how we improve health and protect people's environment.

Children can learn all about the weather and climate change.

Teenagers and Young People

We can tell you where to find fun interactive games and activities about food and healthy eating, including tips for teenagers on how to look and feel your best. Find out why not smoking will make you more attractive.

Teenagers and young people can find out about health and safety when starting out at work. There is also advice about alcohol and your health, with tips on enjoying a safe night out at pubs and clubs.

Work Experience and School Projects

The council's Environmental Health service arranges work experience placements with local schools through Sussex Connexions. Ask at your school if you are interested.

Our Dog Welfare Officer can organise talks and visits to schools.

For school projects and student research, also try these sections:

  • What Environmental Health Does - about our services and how we work to protect and improve people's health. Over 750 pages of advice and information on all our topic areas

  • Publications and Forms - subject index of free leaflets to download, including from many related organisations
