Keep Your Heart Healthy

A healthy heart is vital for a healthy body. To help to protect your heart:

 

  • Eat plenty of fruit and vegetables

  • Eat plenty of fibre

  • Cut down on salt

  • Cut down on fat and go for unsaturated fat instead of saturated

  • Eat oily fish

  • Avoid drinking too much alcohol

  • Try to be a healthy weight

  • Be more active

Keep Your Bones Strong

What you eat can make a difference to the health of your bones. So to help keep your bones strong and help protect against osteoporosis:

 

  • Eat calcium-rich foods

  • Get plenty of vitamin D

  • Eat dark green vegetables

  • Try to be a healthy weight

  • Take a walk

  • Do not have too much vitamin A
