To keep healthy, you should eat at least five portions or more of a variety of fruit and vegetables every day.
You can choose from fresh, frozen, tinned, dried or juiced. But remember that potatoes do not count because they are a starchy food.
A portion of fresh, frozen or canned fruit or vegetables is roughly 80 grams (3 ounces). The portion for dried fruit is about the same as fresh. Fruit juice only counts as one portion a day, however many drinks you have during the day.
Different types of fruit and vegetables provide different nutrients in varying amounts, so eating a wide variety is best for your health.
