Learn about Food and Healthy Eating

Healthy lunch box

Fun for children learning about food safety and healthy eating.

If you are aged 5-11, check out the selection of games on the Eatwell website:

  • Hot Stuff! - play the barbecue game
  • Chill Out! - stack the fridge
  • Be a Breakfast Brainbox
  • and many more...

Eatwell also has a special Christmas game - Turkey Berserkey!

A rogue turkey has broken into the house and is threatening to cause havoc and spoil your festive celebrations. Arm yourself with whatever is to hand to teach the pesky poultry a lesson or two. Pit your wits against the cheeky chappy by playing the game.

The people who work in Environmental Health at the council help to make sure the food you eat has no nasty germs in it, so you do not get ill.

Fun for Kids Online

The Food Safety Music website has some very funny songs and music videos for you to enjoy. Our favourites are 'You better wash your hands' and 'I'm a veggie believer'.

Other fun sites for 5-11 year olds are Food Hygiene Mission Control, Food - A Fact of Life and Healthy Eating - It's Up to You.

If you are aged 11-14, explore the Chew on This site. Food Hygiene Mission Control also has a special section for you. Enjoy!

The Foodlink food safety website has lots of fun and games for everyone - an online quiz, word search, spot the difference, match the pairs and Calamity Kitchen interactive game. You can also download a wide range of puzzles and quizzes, including crosswords and anagrams.
