Young People

Learn about the work of the council's Environmental Health Officers and how we improve health and protect people's environment.

Environmental Health Officers arrange work experience placements with local schools through Sussex Connexions.

Ask at your school if you are interested. Our Dog Welfare Officer can also organise talks and visits to schools.

For school projects and student research, also try these sections:

  • About Environmental Health - what we do, our services and how we work to protect and improve people's health. Over 800 pages of advice and information on all our topic areas

  • Publications and Forms - subject index of free leaflets to download, including from many related organisations

  • Environmental Health for Business - guides to law and regulations for setting up different types of businesses

  • Useful Links - search our online directories for over 200 health and social care websites and over 250 climate, energy, environment and greener living websites
