Nightwatch has replaced and improved the former Pubwatch scheme. Nightwatch was expanded to include other evening economy businesses as well as pubs and clubs such as:
- late night takeaways
- restaurants, and
- taxis
Members benefit from:
- town’s security radio network with handsets
- incident reporting
- photograph albums of persistent offenders
- banning notices, and
- the scheme is administered by a full time co-ordinator
Nightwatch Objectives
to monitor and reduce the incidence of crime
to protect staff from physical and verbal abuse
to exclude persistent offenders from all members’ premises, and
- to make Eastbourne a safer place to work, live and visit
How to Join
Membership is a one off fee of £40 and then an annual subscription based on the rateable value and opening hours of your premises and ranges from £100 - £500.
