Find out about the work of the council's Environmental Health Officers.
The role of Environmental Health is to protect and enhance the environment of people who work, live and visit Eastbourne.
Our services directly contribute to the Eastbourne Community Strategy themes around the environment, housing, crime and disorder, and health and social care.
Working with Business and the Community
We are responsible for the delivery of a broad range of mandatory statutory services that contribute to the promotion of a healthy and safe local living and working environment for residents, visitors and workers.
We are committed to providing a service that is continuously improving to meet the needs of our customers and offers value for money.
The council delivers local Environmental Health services through three operational teams of Environmental Health Officers (Practitioners) and Technicians, in the Development and Environment Department (Health and Environment Team and Licensing Team) and the Community Department (Private Housing Team).
