The Healthy Eastbourne Board (HEB) is a multi-agency group that meets quarterly.
Our objective is to provide a forum in which a range of statutory, voluntary and independent sector organisations can meet, talk, and plan joint actions to improve health in Eastbourne.
Our Priorities
Our priorities and projects are partly influenced by local and partly by national health priorities.
The Food and Physical Activities Group is part of the Healthy Eastbourne Board and works as a group to identify, develop, and commission interventions to encourage and enable the local population of all ages to eat a balanced diet and be more physically active within the Eastbourne area.
Current projects working with the council's Environmental Health team include our Shake the Salt Habit scheme working with local restaurants and takeaways for healthier eating out:
The work of the Healthy Eastbourne Board contributes to the Eastbourne Strategic Partnership Community Strategy, and also to the wider county and government national health improvement objectives.
Our Partners
The partnership consists of local health service providers, public bodies, the voluntary sector and community groups who are working together to improve the health of local communities.
The key partners in the Healthy Eastbourne Board are:
-
Eastbourne Borough Council
-
East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust
