The National Pandemic Flu Service will close on 11 February 2010. If you think you have swine flu symptoms after this date you should call your GP.

Public urged to have the swine flu vaccine
The Chief Medical Officer for England is urging people to have the swine flu vaccination. More than 200 people are in hospital with swine flu, many of them in critical care.

Swine flu vaccination programme
Swine flu vaccinations have begun for people in high-risk groups. Children under the age of five will be offered the vaccine once vaccination of priority groups is complete.

Schools, parents and pregnant women
While most pregnant women with swine flu will only have mild symptoms, there is a higher risk of complications. If you are pregnant and think you may have swine flu, or have a sick child under one year old, call your GP - do not use the new National Pandemic Flu Service.

Several versions of the Swine Flu Information leaflet are available for UK citizens and residents whose first language is not English. A spoken version of the leaflet is also available for people who have difficulty reading, and a Braille copy for the partially sighted.
