Exercise - Get Your 30 Minutes a Day

You do not need to go to a gym to get fit.

The secret of keeping yourself fit is to find everyday exercise activities which are both convenient and enjoyable.

You are most likely to take regular exercise if it is enjoyable and fits in easily with the rest of your life.

Top Tips for Getting Active

  • Take the stairs or walk up escalators

  • Walk to the next bus stop

  • Get a pedometer to record your step rate

  • Enlist support from a friend

  • Leave your car at home for short journeys

  • Take a walk at lunchtime

  • Play active games with your children

  • Walk the children to school

  • Get on your bike

  • Try something new such as dancing or gardening

  • Get active in the bedroom

Eastbourne also has a wide variety of sports and leisure centres, gyms and swimming pools to help you keep active and fit.
