Met Office Severe Weather Warnings
Find the latest information about any current severe weather warnings from the Met Office. Check if the Environment Agency has issued any flood warnings.

Met Office Weather Warnings

The Met Office issues warnings of severe or hazardous weather, including severe gales or heavy rain, which has the potential to cause danger to life or widespread disruption of communications or transport.

Any current warnings issued by the Met Office are fed directly into our website using an RSS Feed in this section.

Early Warnings of severe weather are issued when severe weather is expected in the next few days. Flash Warnings are issued when severe weather is expected in the next few hours.

Advisories are issued by 1100 daily as routine and indicate confidence of expected severe or extreme weather. Early Warnings and Flash Warnings supersede advisories when confidence levels are 60% or greater.

You can download a key to the Met Office colour coding and risk levels for severe weather warnings in a PDF document below.
