How to Read a Barometer

Barometers are instruments used to measure air pressure, so you can take readings to see how the pressure varies. Barometers do not indicate present weather conditions, but help you to forecast probable conditions 12 to 24 hours later, taking into consideration any changes in the direction of the wind.

You can download our advice leaflet in PDF format below which explains how to understand barometer readings.
