The Household Waste Recycling Site in St. Philips Avenue (sometimes known as "the tip") is run by Veolia Environmental Services South Downs Ltd.
This company runs the tip on behalf of East Sussex County Council (not Eastbourne Borough Council).

Asbestos
The 'tip' accepts bonded asbestos. Please call East Sussex County Council on 0345 60 80 194 in advance if you are taking asbestos to the site.

Please remember:
Vehicle Access
There is no height barrier at The Tip but the following vehicles are not permitted:
- vehicles with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) in excess of 3500kg.
- commercial vehicles with a Luton, flat bed or tipper body.
Also please note that vehicles towing a trailer with a maximum length of 8 feet are permitted on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays only. On other days the size limit for trailers is 6 feet in length.
