If you live in a flat, your refuse may be collected in communal or shared bins.
Your refuse is not necessarily collected on the same day as houses in your area, as we use a different vehicle for 'bulk bins'. To find out when your communal bin will be collected, please contact SITA on 01323 720 920.
The council is not responsible for the condition of communal bins, the replacment of bins or the bin store. If your communal refuse bins are broken or need replacing please speak to your managing agents or residents group.
In order to help keep your bin store as clear as possible:

Put all refuse in the refuse bins. Do not leave them by the side of the bins.

Do not leave large bulky items in the bin store. They will not be collected by the refuse crew; please take your items to the 'tip' or call SITA on (01323) 720920 who will remove them for a small fee.

If your collection is missed call us as soon as possible.
Recycling and garden waste
Many blocks of flats in Eastbourne also have recycling facilities. Recycling may be collected on different days to your neighbours. To find out when your recycling will be collected please contact SITA on 01323 720 920.
If you do not have recycling facilities in your building, please contact us.
If your flats have a garden you may wish to apply for the green garden waste collection service. This service is only available to residents who do their own gardening. It is not available in buildings where a gardener is employed.

If you wish to have your bin store cleaned, there are companies who are able to do this for you. Please be aware that we are unable to recommend any one company over another.
