Meet The Recycling Bin Family

Kerby and Reggie
Kerby and Reggie
Hi!  My name is Kerby the recycling box and this is my friend Reggie the recycling wheelie bin.  As a recycling box I can collect cans, paper, glass, textiles and shoes.  Please rinse dirty cans and glass jars to help keep me clean!

Reggie the recycling wheelie bin can only be found at flats.  In flats there just isn't enough space for a recycling box per flat, isn't that right Reggie?

That's right Kerby.  There are always five of us at each block of flats: one each for green glass, clear glass, brown glass, tins and paper - we all have stickers to say what goes in us.  It's very important that you put the right things in each recycling wheelie!

Hello my name is Elvis and I'm a big recycling bin - 1100 litre capacity to be exact!  You will normally see me, and bins like me, at bring sites (although some shops and businesses have us too!).

You can only put one sort of material in us, we will always have writing on us to say what material we collect for recycling.  We also have shaped holes in our hats to help stop people putting the wrong things in us.
Pablo and Candice

We are Pablo and Candice and we live along the seafront!  We always hang out together, sunning ourselves and watching what the seagulls get up to.

We each collect a different material for recycling, Pablo collects newspapers while I collect cans.  We have what we collect written on us so you do not get confused!  It very important that you only put the right things in us for recycling... otherwise it all has to go to landfill.

Arrrr me harties!  I be Captain Fantastic and I live at the bring sites, I'm one of the biggest of all recycling bins, in fact I am so big they call me a recycling bank!  Bring all of your plastic bottles to me for recycling!

There are more recycling banks the same size as me.  There are blue ones for paper and brown ones for cardboard.  We all have what you can put in us written on us so you landlubbers do not get confused!
