We love pets... dogs, cats, hamsters, fish and all of the others! Having a pet is a big responsibility, you have to make sure they have enough food, fresh water, somewhere clean to live and that they stay healthy. But you also have to make sure they are happy and (for those which live in cages) have something to do when you're not playing with them.
Here are a few ideas!
Cats love to chase things so why not have a go at making a cat toy?
You could just use a piece of string which they love to chase, or why not find a stick to tie the string to a stick so that you can hold it above their head and they have jump to catch it. You can always tie something to the end of the string to make it more interesting to chase or catch.
One cat we knew even loved to chase screwed up pieces of paper!
Don't forget that you can always use old newspapers to put in your cat's litter tray.
Hamsters, gerbils and mice love egg boxes - they love to hide in them, climb on them and chew them up to make extra bedding with. They also love kitchen paper tubes to run in and out of.
Don't forget that you can use shredded paper to put in their cages instead of sawdust.
