A good lunch box
This lunch box will result in little waste, or waste which readily decomposes:
- Fruit (the banana skin, orange skin and apple core will decompose fairly quickly).
- The chocolate and bread sticks do not have individual packaging. These could have come from a big box so that there is less waste overall.
- The sandwiches are not wrapped in cling film or foil. If the lunchbox is air-tight the sandwiches will not dry out.
- A reusable beaker for the drink.
If you look at what is in this lunchbox, it is quite healthy! This means it is good for you and also the environment as less waste is produced.
A bad lunch box
This lunch box will create a lot of waste as there is a lot of plastic packaging:
- Crisp packet
- Cheese dip container
- Sandwiches wrapped in cling film
- Chocolate in a plastic wrapper
- A plastic bottle (remember that you can recycle your plastic bottles at some of our bring sites)
If you look at what is in there it is not a very healthy lunch box either; so it is bad for you and the environment!
