We are able to offer communal 'bulk' recycling facilities for flats. Bulk recycling is where we provide wheelie bins for recycling instead of green recycling boxes. This is much more suitable as space is often restricted.
Due to the method of collection, a separate recycling wheelie bin is required for:
-
Paper (newspaper, magazines, junk mail, envelopes without windows)
-
Tins and cans (including the large chocolate and biscuit tins)
-
Green glass
-
Clear glass
-
Brown glass
The Bulk Recycling Collection Vehicle
Please be aware that the vehicle that collects bulk recycling has three compartments. A different material is collected in each compartment. As there are five materials to collect and only three compartments, the crew will return at a later time or on a different day to collect their remaining materials.
If you wish to know what day(s) your bulk recycling is collected please call SITA on (01323) 720920.
Contact us if you Do Not Have Recycling at Your Flats
In order to recycle even more of Eastbourne's waste, we are looking to install recycling wheelie bins at all suitable flats in Eastbourne.
As every block of flats is different, we cannot locate recycling wheelie bins at flats without a site visit. This is to ensure that there is adequate space and that the bins are located in a suitable place for the crew.
If you live in a flat and do not yet have a collection of recycling, please contact us on (01323) 415989 to arrange a visit, you need not be present. If you have a residents association please ask your Chair person or other representative to contact us on behalf of all residents in the building.
