One third of our waste is organic garden and food waste. This poses a problem when we send it to landfill because it rots, producing methane - a 'greenhouse gas'. This is one of the gases responsible for global warming.
If you have a garden or some extra space then you could have a home composter, wormery or food digester and help divert organic waste from Landfill. Another idea if you would like to save money on your water bill and help the environment by saving water is by installing a water butt which collects rain and waste water.
