Environmental Health receives many complaints about problems with noise from dogs. Please read our leaflet, available to download below, for advice on dealing with noise from dogs.
Talking & Mediation
Before contacting the council we always suggest you talk to the dog owner first to try to resolve any problems. If taking a direct approach does not work, or you do not feel able to approach the owner, you may want to consider mediation.
Mediation will involve an independent third party working with both parties to reach an agreement or compromise. Contact details for Eastbourne Community Mediation Service are below. The service is free and totally confidential.

If you have not been able to resolve the problem with the owner, then you can contact the council for help. Before you contact us, try to be sure of the exact address where the noise is occurring. If it is a regular problem, please keep a Noise Record Sheet, available to download below, with evidence of the times when the problems occur.
