The Planning Policy team are currently working on the creation of an Area Action Plan document for pro-active management of Eastbourne Park, the grazing wetland area in the centre of Eastbourne.
A draft Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report has been created which reviews all relevant documents to identify key messages and give baseline information under social, economic and environmental categories. This sets the scene for how the area is now. From this, data and trends are identified which will be used to monitor changes. It also identifies sustainability issues and tensions between components and proposals.
In spring 2009, we started a process of consultation with interested parties including an Officers Working Group, Members Steering Group. A Stakeholder Forum was held on 3 July 2009 to discuss issues with interested parties and to assist with decision making for possible options for the future of the area. The Stakeholder Event Feedback Report is attached below.
By 2026 Eastbourne Park will provide a unique, accessible and sensitively managed green heart which makes a significant contribution to the social, economic and physical wellbeing of the community.
