Sequential and Exception Test

Hand holding plans
Plans

The Sequential and Exception Test are national planning policy requirements and are required to ensure that vulnerable development is directed to areas of the Borough with the least flood risk. The assessment is required to examine the location of future residential and employment land proposals in the Eastbourne Plan - Core Strategy.

The Sequential and Exception Test has been informed by evidence and information presented in the Eastbourne and South Wealden Strategic Flood Risk Assessment (SFRA). The assistance and guidance of the Environment Agency has been influential in the preparation of both the Sequential and Exception Test.
