Eastbourne Local Development Documents

The Development Plan for Eastbourne (formerly known as the Local Development Framework) consists of a series of Local Development Documents. These documents provide the planning policy framework which is used to determine planning applications.

The documents have been prepared in line with the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004, subsequently revised through the Localism Act 2011 and the Town and Country Planning Regulations (Amendment) 2008 and 2012.

Latest: Modifications to the Town Centre Local Plan are being consulted on for 6 weeks from Friday 22 February - 5 April 2013.

  • Other Local Plans - including the Development Management LP, Employment Land LP and Seafront LP 

  • Community Infrastructure Charging Schedule - to outline charges on development to support strategic infrastructure  

Policies that apply following the Adoption of the Core Strategy

Following the adoption of the Eastbourne Core Strategy Local Plan by Full Council on 20 February 2013, a number of saved policies from the Eastbourne Borough Plan 2001-2011 have been deleted. In addition, policies from the Eastbourne Core Strategy Local Plan now form part of the Development Plan for Eastbourne.
