Eastbourne Borough Council has a range of planning policies that are used to inform decisions to approve or reject planning applications.
Government legislation has made some major changes to the way councils prepare planning policies. Local development plans will be replaced by local development frameworks (LDF), which are a collection of local planning policy documents.
We will be consulting on various development plan documents which will form part of the LDF.
Latest: On the 31 January 2012 the Council submitted the Eastbourne Plan: Core Strategy and the Town Centre Area Action Plan to the Secretary of State for independent examination.
Currently we are working on:
-
the Eastbourne Plan - Core Strategy
-
Eastbourne Park Supplementary Planning Document
-
Town Centre Area Action Plan
- Sustainable Building Design Supplementary Planning Document
- Sovereign Harbour Supplementary Planning Document
We have compiled many evidence documents which together inform a revised strategy for the future development of Eastbourne.
You can find out about all of these documents under the Local Development Framework section of the website.
Until new LDF documents are adopted the current Eastbourne Borough Plan (2001-2011) policies are saved. Borough Plan policies are available to download in this section of the website.
